There are lots of ways you can get started with the design of your home or investment property… scouring interiors magazines for inspiration, using websites such as Houzz and Pinterest to create your own online mood boards, chatting and visiting friends who have recently redecorated their homes, interior design blog sites etc.
It can certainly seem a bit over whelming, especially when we all lead such busy lives – finding time to trawl the internet and high street for ideas can be hard.
For some people it is just a case of needing a bit of help with furniture and colour schemes or simply that they don’t want the expense of a full interior design service.
As an interior design company who has dealt with many residential and commercial projects we found that we were being contacted more and more often by clients who had loads of their own ideas but just need a few pointers and places to source the products they were after.
After helping a few clients we decided to come up with a package called ‘Flying Start’ which now runs alongside the more traditional side of our interior design business. Clients submit photographs and dimensions of the room the wish to redecorate, along with some inspiration images or photos so we can get a feel of their taste and aspirations. The process starts off with a questionnaire with can be found on our website, www.owldesign.co.uk, which asks the questions that helps them get one step closer to their dream room.
The ‘Flying Start’ box contains three design options each with a mood board, shopping list of product and samples. It has proved really popular – and a great house warming/birthday gift as well.
Best of all this can be done via email and phone so it doesn’t take up too much time for the client at all!
