The women who inspire me… Andrea Wasem

I feel very lucky to be working and growing alongside such strong and independent women. As the youngest member of the team, it is so inspiring to be surrounded by my co-workers who all have different approaches and strengths.
There are so many women who have made history, but instead of looking back a few centuries, I would like to highlight two women who have made their own marks in the last year.
First, we have Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand’s 40th and current prime minister who became only the second elected head of government to give birth while in office and still managed to do her job. She has handled the pandemic so well that New Zealand was one of the first countries to get back to normal. Talk about a lady boss! Second, we have Kamala Harris, who is the first African-South Asian American AND female occupant of the office. No need to elaborate on this, this sentence speaks for itself.
I look forward to seeing the first woman elected president, I do believe we are close. In a society where women still have to fight for equality, I want to be part of the progress.
