When Centre Point arrived in London in 1966, its bold geometric design and delicate honeycomb façade captured the confidence, optimism and creative flair of the decade. Today, under the careful curation of an award-winning team, the building is experiencing a new life as an exclusive residence in a truly exceptional location.
The spectacular double-height reception with its original staircases and commissioned artworks offers a dramatic welcome. The selection of every material, colour and detail was inspired by the distinctive character of the original building: the graphic, three-dimensional confidence of its exterior façade; the bold use of pattern and contrast in the 1960s mezzanine level, where white Carrara marble is cast into black terrazzo; and other surviving elements of the original bespoke ironmongery, joinery and tiling. Staff on the door, at reception, and in the concierge team are always available welcome residents home and offer whatever services are required with discretion and assurance.
Centre Point has always caught the eye and the imagination. When it was originally under construction, Londoners marvelled at the pioneering building process that allowed it to be put together so quickly. Once finished, its captivating geometric design, delicate honeycomb façade and towering presence made the building an instantly recognisable landmark – with Londoners and tourists alike using it to get their bearings. And then, of course, there are the letters of the Centre Point sign itself, beaming the building’s name across the city skyline. Time has made it an icon – a national treasure – a status confirmed officially when it was listed for protection by English Heritage in 1995. It is a building like no other.

Centre Point sits at the heart of some of London’s most vibrant areas, four distinctive, characterful and heritage-filled local neighbourhoods. The bright lights and nightlife of Soho, the leafy squares and academia of Bloomsbury, media hub and foodie destination Fitzrovia along with Covent Garden’s entertainment, culture, shopping & dining.
At the base of Centre Point itself is St Giles Square, home to Arcade Food Hall – featuring seven independent kitchens, a coffee and bakery counter, three bars, an outdoor terrace and ‘The Loft’, an incubation-focused mezzanine space. History
Centre Point has been a marker on London’s skyline since the 1960s – a confident modernist tower announcing the West End as you arrive at Tottenham Court Road. Designed by George Marsh of R. Seifert & Partners for developer Harry Hyams, the 34-storey building was completed in 1966 and was one of London’s very first skyscrapers. Its finely detailed precast concrete lattice and full-height glazing were pioneering at the time, using modular construction techniques that allowed the tower to rise quickly above the historic streets of St Giles.
From the outset, Centre Point was conceived as best-in-class office space. Hyams’ vision was for a single blue-chip occupier to take the entire building – a bold move in an era when London was just beginning to think vertically, with generous floorplates, dramatic corner windows and panoramic views over the West End.
Centre Point attracted a succession of high-profile tenants. Most notably, from 1980 to 2014 it served as the headquarters of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), reinforcing its status as a national business address at the heart of the capital. Over the decades, perceptions of the architecture evolved from experimental to iconic. In 1995 the building was granted Grade II listed status, formally recognising its importance in the story of modern London, and in 2009 it received the Concrete Society’s Mature Structures Award for the quality and longevity of its construction.
One of the more human chapters in Centre Point’s history is its connection to the youth homelessness charity Centrepoint. In 1969, Reverend Kenneth Leech opened a night shelter for young people in the basement of nearby St. Anne’s Church. With the Centre Point tower rising nearby as a prominent London landmark, the new charity took the name “Centrepoint” – positioning itself as a central, visible refuge for those in need.
Over time, the organisation has grown into a leading national charity supporting thousands of young people each year, and the shared name has become part of the building’s wider cultural story: a reminder that this corner of the West End has long been associated with both ambition and social conscience.
Today, Centre Point stands as a rare combination: a Grade II listed London landmark with an authentic, layered history, now thoughtfully reinterpreted as contemporary residential apartments at the centre of one of the West End’s most connected and evolving neighbourhoods.
The Residences
One, two & three bedroom apartments offer a range of layouts arranged laterally across the generous floor plates of this historic London landmark. All floors are reached by high speed passenger lifts that open, in the case of three bedroom units, into the resident’s own private lobby and adjoining reception hallways clad in dark-stained oak panels and tiled with three-colour Bleu de Savoie limestone in a bespoke Centre Point pattern.
All primary living spaces have a sense of scale and proportion unlike anything else, with a full-width westerly vista overlooking Oxford Street, Soho and beyond towards Mayfair, Fitzrovia and London landmarks including the BT Tower and as far as Wembley Stadium.
