Entered on the fourth floor (with secure, key operated lift), the bespoke commission hand-made front door opens in to a reception hall affording access to the cosy dining area perfect for intimate dinner parties with an open plan galley style Leicht kitchen featuring stainless steel worktops and a mixture of high-spec Gaggenau and Neff appliances.
On this floor you'll also find the generous master suite with walls partially upholstered in leather, a dressing area and en-suite shower room with it's own sauna, plus doors opening on to a private south facing terrace. There are two further double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a study, a guest bathroom and separate WC.
The main living space is situated on the fifth floor, accessed via a modern staircase within the recognisable glass atrium at the front of the building, that also leads to the sixth floor 'crows nest', a fully glazed private snug with fantastic views over the West End and perfect for a bit of contemplative star gazing of an evening. The 5th floor reception room was formerly a recording studio (no doubt with its own tales to tell) with access to two further terraces facing south and west, offering fantastic roof top views along Upper St Martins Lane and Monmouth Street respectively.
Seven Dials has an interesting history of its own, originally developed by Thomas Neale in the early 1690's with a view to attracting affluent residents, however for much of its early history it was full of gin shops and ne'er-do-wells, with a pub on every corner (only The Crown remains today) and a series of interconnecting tunnels between each, perfect for a quick escape. The area became regarded as somewhat of a slum, even referenced by the great Charles Dickens himself.
Nowadays, Seven Dials has more of a village feel much closer to Neale's original vision. The eclectic mix of cobbled streets, historic architecture, independent boutiques, theatres, restaurants, coffee shops and of course the iconic sundial give the area a unique atmosphere within London's buzzing West End.
