Stop and smell the coffee – Covent Garden’s finest brews

We aren’t shy to admit we’re an office filled with avid coffee drinkers, although we save the martini version for after‑hours!

But in our quest for the finest caffeine fix, it’s not all about the perfect flat white as we judge our coffee on the overall experience, and we are very fortunate to have some super friendly baristas around our way.
The Espresso Room
Just because we are neighbours with @theespressoroom doesn’t mean that they would automatically feature here, although Leanne advocates that it is super handy to have this neighbourhood cafe so close by.

Serving up delectable pastries, best teamed with their famed espresso or espresso martini depending on your mood, this really is a top spot to sit back, enjoy and watch Covent Garden go by.
Monmouth Coffee
The queue often spotted on Monmouth Street isn’t for a bus, a sample sale or even a new product everyone is itching to get their mitts on; it is for @monmouthcoffee, a local institution in Seven Dials.

In fact, you might call them the old timers who instigated the coffee movement as they started roasting and retailing coffee in 1978 using coffee sourced from single cooperatives, estates and farms. Today they are still leading the pack, and we believe it is well worth joining their queue.
WA Japanese Patisserie
What tastes better than coffee? Coffee with quintessentially Japanese pastries of course. Another one of our neighbours (lucky us) is @wacafelondon, lined with breads, cakes and treats that would give any baker in the Great British Bake Off tent a run for their money. Their perfectly presented cakes are layered with precision, making us feel all the more guilty when we demolish them so fast! Oh, and we forgot about the coffee but trust us, that is pretty tasty too.
Fair Shot Cafe
@fairshotcafe in The Yards is a must while in Covent Garden. Yes, the emphasis is on the coffee, delectable pastries and salads served in this contemporary yet welcoming space but the focus is also on the cheery staff who might have learning difficulties and/or autism. These trainees are part of Fairshot’s empowering programme to set them up for a future job in the hospitality sector and give us even more reason to indulge here as all profits going directly back into this social enterprise.

Arabica
Despite being a global brand, there are only a smattering of @arabica_uk in the UK, so we’re particularly smug that one is a hop, skip and jump from our office. Step inside the shop on King Street and be greeted by friendly baristas against a backdrop that wouldn’t go amiss on the front of a glossy interiors mag. It seems fitting that Hannah earmarked Arabica as one of her favs since she shares the same passions as Kenneth Shoji, the owner of coffee, design and seeing the world.
